On Feb. 9, POSTECH holds its Commencement Ceremony for the 2017 academic year. POSTECH graduates, and their guests will be at the POSTECH Gymnasium, starting from 10:40 A.M. Professor Kim Won-jong (CHEM) and his students, Kim Jin-hwan (CHEM, Ph.D.), Park Hyeong-mok (CHEM, Ph. D. candidate) have developed a nano-machine that can be used for breast cancer treatment. The type of treatment for breast cancer is decided by whether it is positive to estrogen, progesterone, or a type of cell membrane protein, HER2 receptor. However, if all are negative, it is hard to treat and is called a triple-negative cancer. The third Univer+city forum was conducted on Nov. 24. Universities, local governments, and industries from Pohang, Ulsan, and Gyeongju participated in a conference about the innovation for local progress. It was first held last May in Gyeongju, the second conference was in Pohang and the third was held in Ulsan.
