On Dec. 2, at the Administration Building, POSTECH’s 27th Anniversary was celebrated. In this ceremony, the 2013 Proud Postechian Awards were presented. The recipients of this award were Professor Hee Cheul Choi (CHEM), Prof. Cha, Hyung Joon (CE), Prof. Yoo, Joo-Yeon (LIFE) and staff Dong Sun, Choi.
Prof. Hee and Prof. Cha received the award in the field of research. Prof. Hee discovered the Carbo Thermal Reduction reaction for single walled carbon nano-tube silicon oxide nano-trenches and synthesized iron-phthalo cyanine molecules. Prof. Cha discovered an applied usage for smart bio-adhesives materials from marine mussels and developed useful resources in pharmaceutical bio-adhesives.
Prof. Yoo received the Proud Postechian Award in the field of education for creating and receiving good response for discussion generating classes such as Modern Life Science Laboratory and Systems Biology. Lastly, Mr. Choi received the award in the field of innovation for his outstanding achievement in the Procurement Innovation Task Force Team.
