Dormitory building 20 and Nakwon apartment building 6 are going to be renovated during summer vacation and from August to December.
The number of freshmen has exceeded 646 people, which is the maximum number that can be housed in the freshmen and sophomore dorms, due to the establishment of CITE(Creative IT Excellence Eng- ineering). As it is decided that about 36 more students are to be admitted next year, it is now necessary to make more rooms for the incoming class. Housing renovation is planned to renovate the rooms in dorm 20 to be the same as those in dorm 21.
Currently, only 42 rooms, in which freshmen and sophomores live, had been remodeled like those of dorm 21 while the other rooms are not. The major changes include equipping the rooms with Ondol heating floor system, installing a private bathroom in each room, and making kitchens for floor lounges on each floor.
During renovation, graduate residents of dorm 20 are granted to live in dorm 21 temporarily. When it’s done, the housing office plans to open the spare rooms in dorm 20 to the graduate students at an increased expense, after allowing the freshmen residents to fill up first, giving priority to students that used to live in dorm 20.
Additionally, Nakwon apartment 6 will be used to house CITE graduate students after renovation.
