Humanity is the essence of any technology: Technology exists and thrives for humans, and the humanity behind it is what makes technology so important. This aspect of technology marks the importance of college press in science and engineering schools like our own.

I used to imagine myself working as a journalist as a kid. This version of myself gradually disappeared from the world of academics I live in, but the passion I had for journalism still holds.

To my knowledge, journalism is what makes communities thrive these days. If it were not for the power of journalism, the whole world would be in complete chaos, and communities would have no impetus to move forward. Journalism is how we connect with other people in different circumstances and backgrounds, and journalism is what prevents the dominant forces from stepping over the weaker ones brutally.

I admire the nobility journalism presents and hereby promise to follow its value. As a reporter of The Postech Times, I promise to work during nights and days to make sure that people who want to have a voice get a chance to speak up and that the shared thoughts and values of fellow Postechians prosper with the power of journalism. I would know I have done my job if my articles could provide readers with a fresh perspective or humanitarian views in either general, or academic and technical aspects.

From my early teenage years, I have always enjoyed watching the show called “The Gilmore Girls.” Rory Gilmore, the main character of this show, worked as a reporter at a college press throughout her college years. Back when I was young, I would watch this show and dream about working in a college press, paving my way to becoming a journalist. Moving fast-forward to 2024, the college life I have experienced so far was nothing like what I have ever imagined. College life is so much more packed, but I also got to meet so many new people and experience new things, and I am grateful for all the opportunities I had, including working at The Postech Times. I am thrilled to begin this new chapter of my life: to work with great colleagues and seniors, to learn and develop myself, and to experience new things, working as an assistant reporter at The Postech Times
