Professor Choi Jun-il (EEE) was named associate editor of ‘IEEE Communications Letters’. IEEE Communications Letters is a journal in the field of information technology, published by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), one of the largest academic societies in the field of electrical and electronic technology.

Prof. Choi, who has been actively conducting research on intelligent communication systems, received his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University and was a postdoctoral fellow at The University of Texas at Austin. His main research fields are in the design and analysis of massive MIMO, distributed reception, and vehicular communication systems. In July, 2016, he started his new post as an assistant professor in POSTECH. 

He also has received high praise from the academic society, receiving in 2015 the IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Paper Award and the 2013 Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) Signal Processing for Communications Symposium Best Paper Award.
