On Oct. 5-6, POSTECH HiT Institute hosted an Annual International Symposium on “Body and Enhancement Technology.” Cutting-edge fusion technology, such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, and information technology, plays an important role in humans’ lives, as it leads to many opportunities for human development (such as stem cells, regenerative medicine, and gene doping). The HiT Institute desires to provide a place to discuss the ethical, political, social, and psychological issues related to this technology.
This conference was hosted over two days. On the first day, “Engineering the Body: Embodied Cognition and Perception” and “Designing the Body: Perfect and Regulation ” were discussed. On the second day, “Plastinating the Body: Aesthetics and Anxiety” was discussed.
