On Apr. 7, President Sunggi Baik visited Hong Kong University of Science and Technology for the agreement of a new partnership. With the agreement, mainly two cooperative programs will be established.
One, HKUST will be added to the list of the students exchange program from the spring of 2011. Then, the students will be provided with a wider choice from another cultural background added. Also, the students will be benefited with the well-known HKUST business program.
Two, POSTECH and HKUST will embark on the joint Ph.D. programs. As a requirement, the candidates to the program will have co-advisors in both POSTECH and HKUST. Also, they will have to spend at least two years in each institution.
With the new partnership, the undergraduate students of POSTECH will be able to seek for the diversity in both education and culture.
HKUST, located aside of the center of Hong Kong, was ranked 41st in the Times Higher Education World university Rankings 2010.
