As a kid, I loved to play with LEGO. The joy of the LEGO craft was searching for one fitting piece from a pile of blocks and assembling the selected pieces in the proper orientation.  
 Writing uses a similar mechanism to building a LEGO work. The first step to writing is finding the right terms with definitions and connotations that match my situation. In the next step, I have to order the words so that the sentence convey my thoughts and intent. Although this process can be time-consuming, but finding unique words, sentences, and, eventually, text from an infinite possibility is the beauty of writing.
 This is not the only reason why I like writing. Writing is a powerful tool for delivering information or opinions to a large audience. In my sophomore year of high school, I joined a newspaper club. While I was in the club, I wrote articles around areas of my interest and shared them with the students and teachers in the school. Eventually, this experience of researching engaging topics and sharing them with others led me to continue my life as a reporter in The Postech Times.    
 I acknowledge that a reporter is not simply responsible for writing. A genuine reporter should read more than write and listen more than speak. So the type of reporter I want to be in The Postech Times is an active reader and listener. By active reader and listener, I mean spending more time gathering background knowledge of an issue, researching multiple sides, asking experts' opinions, and so on. As a reporter, the number one rule is delivering accurate facts; number two is being as less biased as possible; number three is never plagiarizing. Thus, to follow these rules, I will be an active reader and listener by researching a topic thoroughly before I start writing. I will use reliable sources for fact-checking, report multiple points of view, and always cite sources. 
 I still have many skills and qualities to acquire to become a qualified reporter. Yet, with the help of the Editor and fellow reporters, I will become a good journalist. I just laid the first LEGO block as a reporter in The Postech Times and will proceed until I lay the last piece of a masterpiece.
