Baek Seung-mi (MSE Ph.D.) received the Young Researcher Award nominated and awarded by The 7th International Conference on Nanomaterials by Severe Plastic Deformation, NanoSPD7. She presented a paper entitled “Superior Pre-Osteoblast Cell Response of Etched Ultrafine-Grained Titanium with a Controlled Crystallographic Orientation.” The paper suggested a way to enhance the strength of titanium and proved the possible application of titanium using crystallographic orientation. NanoSPD7 Young Research Award is awarded to young researchers under the age of 35 who have contributed to the development of the nanomaterial field. The research was performed in cooperation with Professor Hahn Sei-kwang (MSE) and published on Scientific Reports on Mar. 7. NanoSPD7 awards ceremony was held in Sydney on Jul. 6.
