The final screening of the First Moving 3D Printing Design Contest, hosted by the Korea Institute of Robot and Convergence (KIRO), supervised by K-ICT 3D Printing Gyeongbuk Center, was held in KIRO on Nov. 12.
The purpose of the contest was to introduce 3D printing pan-nationally, discover creative talents, and offer an opportunity to access 3D printing. Anyone or any team with an idea or design was able to participate in the contest. Participants were separated into two classes: specialized high schools and general.
Through the document screening in September, 12 teams were selected. These teams received mentoring and production support, and delivered a presentation with their invention on Nov. 12.
The grand prize—Minister of Science, ICT, and Future Planning prize—in general class was awarded to ‘with 3D’ team, composed of seniors in Pohang. ‘with 3D’ team invented ‘Automatic Gardening Therapy Waterer Utilizing 3D Printer,’ a solar energy powered system capable of automatically supplying water according to humidity.
