On Nov. 29 at 5p.m, ‘Let me introduce my research’ contest was held at the 1st floor of C5 building. In this contest, applicants give 3 minutes presentations about the researches they are doing, or any other relevant information. The contest was motivated from ‘FameLab’, where more than 5,000 scientists from 33 countries have participated since 2005 Cheltenham Science Festival. The contest challenges applicants to explain their scientific researches in a way that non-science majors can easily understand.
The judges were Jong-woo Won (representative of ‘Science and People’), Sang-yeon Kim (‘Donga Science’ special reporter), and Pro. Kim Jin-taek (CiTE). Yeon-jun Hwang (EE Ph.D. candidate), Han-Seul Jo (CiTE Ph.D. candidate), and Dong Heon Ha (ME Ph.D. candidate) received First Prize, Runner up, and Merit awards. Mr. Hwang said “I learnt a lot from other participants’ presentations. Professional commentaries from the judges will definitely excel my current research”.
