Professor Hwang In-hwan (LIFE) became an editor of The Plant Cell, one of the most prestigious plant journals in the world. Prof. Hwang is the first Korean editor of the journal, which is widely read among Asian scholars.
The Plant Cell is a monthly scientific journal that focuses on cellular and molecular biology, genetics, development, and evolution. It is published by the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB), a professional society devoted to the advancement of the plant sciences since 1924.
Prof. Hwang already has editor positions in several journals, including Journal of Plant Biology, Frontiers in Plant Cell Biology, Plant & Cell Physiology. Moreover, Prof. Hwang has achieved highly esteemed research results in movement, production, distribution mechanisms and transferring efficiency of protein in cells. His work on protein cells’ role in the development of plants won the In-chon Award in 2009. Prof. Hwang is also chairman of ICAR Korea 2016 organizing committee, which will be held in HICO (Gyeongju Hwabaek International Convention Center) in June 2016.
