Gratitude to Honored Postechians, POSTECH’s 28th Anniversary

The ceremony for POSTECH’s 28th anniversary was held in the Administration Building on Dec 2.  At the celebration, 20 people were awarded for 20 years of service, and six people were awarded for 10 years of service.
The Proud Postechian prize was awarded to Prof. Kim Yoon-Ho (PHYS), Hwang Ildoo (LIFE) and Lee Tae Woo (MSE) for the professional category and Prof. Woo Jung Ah (HSS) and Kwon Soon Joo (MSE) for education. About volunteering, there was no recommendation so no one was awarded. Among staff members, the collaboration group of Choi Jong Gyu (General Affairs and Safety), Kim Dong Sik (QSS TFT), Shin Jae Bum (MSE) and Kim Byung Hwan (CE) were awarded in the field of innovation. Baek Chang Won (Planning and Budget) was also awarded for innovation, and Park Yeong Ran (Undergraduate Student Affairs) was awarded for achievements & service. These awards were established in 2007 for people who develop the honor of POSTECH.
Prof. Kim Yoon-Ho (PHYS), Prof. Hwang Ildoo (LIFE), and Prof. Lee Tae Woo (MSE) all produced ground-breaking work in their respective fields, which raised the statue of POSTECH. Baek Chang Won (Planning and Budget) helped to establish and enforce a system for the space policy, and Park Yeong Ran (Undergraduate Student Affairs) expanded the state scholarship. This reduced the financial burden of the university while increasing scholarship support available to students.
