The Department of Life Sciences held its silver anniversary in POSCO International Center on Apr. 5, 2014. About two hundred fifty people, including professors, students, alumni and their family participated in the event, and students of LIFE served as voluntary staff.
The department was opened in 1989, two years after foundation of POSTECH.  Alumni in various fields came and participated in the career exploration session with undergraduates divided into teams of university, industry, and research institute. The event started with a slide show introducing the footprints over the last 25 years, opening comments from Professor Sung Key Jang, and a congratulatory address from Jeong-Ho Yun, the President of LIFE alumni association. The development fund presentation ceremony and presentation of achievement plaque followed. Next was an introduction on how to develop the field of life sciences. After that, everybody went to Log Cabin for drinks. This event strengthened network among the alumni association and LIFE students.
