When Kim was in POSTECH’s depa- rtment of mechanical engineering (advisor professor, Jin Won Lee), he developed a high-speed nanoparticle beam cleaning technology. For a startup idea using the aforementioned skill, he was awarded gold prize of POSCO Idea Challenge.
Using this technique, pollutant particles on a wafer can be completely removed, and the skill is essential for 10 nano-scale element production, which is emerging as a main issue in the field of semiconductor industry.
Startup Contest Superstar V is hosted by the Small and Medium Business Administration to inspire startup passion of youth, and to discover and raise founders. At this contest, winners of 18 national start-up contests participated.
Currently, Kim established a venture company based on the technology, and is trying to commercialize it.
