Professor Jong-Lam Lee (MSE) and Hakki Yu (MSE Ph.D.) received the Prime Minister’s Award in “2013 Korea Invention Patent Exhibition”, which is the most prestigious patent award. The Korea Intellectual Property Office and Korea Invention Promotion Association held the contest at COEX from Nov. 29- Dec. 2.
Prof. Lee developed technology related with creating transparent electrodes to form indium tin oxide nano wire on any plate. It can even be applied to a plastic one. The process requires a relatively low temperature (about 100。C). Also, the nano wire is connected like a branch and does not break or crack with bending. It can be applied to transparent electrode materials for flexible electronic devices. In addition, it can increase the efficiency of solar cells, organic light emitting diodes, and large capacity batteries. Prof. Lee said, “I will commercialize flexible electronic devices using the technology by applying it to various devices and developing more technology.”
