On Jan. 2, Professor Wan Kyun Chung of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was appointed as the president of the Korea Robotics Society (KROS). The Korea Robotics Society is a representative robotics society, established in 2003 for information interchanges and academic activities of robots and robotics in Korea.
This society has held “International Conference on Ubiquitous Robots and Ambient Intelligence,” published academic journals such as Robot and Human, and promoted academic-industrial cooperation.
Prof. Chung said, “although I feel a heavy sense of responsibility, I will put forth my best effort to promote Korean robotics both at home and abroad.” For celebrating 10th year of establishment of KROS, Prof. Chung is focusing on upcoming URAI 2013, World Haptics Conference, IEEE RoMan, and several other events.
