Professor Kimoon Kim (CHEM), an expert in supramolecular chemistry, was granted the first Korean honorary professorship of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science. Prof. Kim visited Russia to receive the award and delivered a lecture in general meeting of the Russian Academy of Science and Institute of Inorganic Chemistry.
The Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science announced grounds of selection that prof. Kim has brought numerous academic advances in supramolecular chemistry using cucurbituril, methylene-linked macrocyclic molecules made of glycoluril monomers.
Prof. Kim was selected as one of the most 100 influential chemists in the world and received “Izatt-Christensen” of International Symposium on Macrocyclic and Supra- molecular Chemistry in 2011.
