On Nov. 15, a concert by KNUA (The Korean National University of Arts) Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Chi-yong Chung, was held in POSTECH’s grand auditorium as the POSTECH culture program.
The conductor and roughly 60 players opened with William Tell Overture composed by Rossini, followed by Carmen Fantasy, Op.25 composed by Sarasate. Then, with tenor Beomjin Kim and soprano Seunghui Go, the orchestra played seven more pieces, including music of Opera La Bohemn composed by Puccini.
During the performance, the audience was able to appreciate harmony and grandeur of instruments as well as to enrich their sensitivity through applauding performers. A playful atmosphere was delivered through the motion of the conductor and warmed the audience.
POSTECH and KNUA have a strong history. Last Aprill 12th, POSTECH hosted KNUA Wind Orchestra.
