On Aug.15, a group of around 50 people gathered to celebrate India’s Independence Day. Since 1947, India has celebrated its freedom from the British. The ceremony was held at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering. A joyous and energetic atmo-sphere was created, as families and friends were greeted one by one.
The ceremony started at 8 P.M., marked by singing the Indian national anthem. The following programs included three speeches, a short film, a pledge, a quiz on Indian culture, three songs sung by the guests, and a skit. People from all ages were able to enjoy the performances. As a closure, the guests shared their homemade food at Oasis.
