For the past six years, the “Passion of Pohang (PoP)” festival has been organized by the Pohang University Alliance and has been open to everyone in Pohang. This year, however, the festival will not be hosted. Regardless of POSTECH’s effort to enact the festival, other members of the Pohang University Alliance could not find common grounds for the preparation. It is inferred that most of the universities in Pohang have lost interest in organizing the program. Originally, five universities participated in the PoP. Last year, however, only three, including Handong Global University, Sunlin College, and POSTECH have taken part. It is not clear whether PoP will be hosted in the following years. Meanwhile, Hyungsan cultural festival is likely to be held this year in place of the PoP festival.
