Pohang ballpark has finished being constructed and is hosting games. It is the first ballpark in Gyeongsangbuk-do that can hold international baseball games. Construction started in March, 2010, with the total cost of 31.7 billion KRW. Its area is 20,196 square meters and includes one base floor and three upper stories. The stadium now has 11,247 seats, but seats behind home plate, special seats for TV camera and photographers, and other convenient facilities are part of future plans for the ballpark. 
About sixty-thousand fans visited the stadium to watch the first games between Samsung, the home team, and Hanwha on Aug. 14-16. Pohang city plans to have nine games in the following season and is negotiating with Samsung.
