POSTECH participated in “Thanks Sharing Mo- vement” wh- ich is promot ed by the city of Pohang in the attempt to make it a hap- pier city. On May 7, the mayor of Pohang visited POSTECH, and he donated 3,000 thank-you notes that can be written five thankful things day after day, to President Yongmin Kim. Followed by the mayor’s visit, President Kim visited Nam-gu Health center and encouraged people to participate in the Thanks Sharing Movement, on May 8.
Based on one motto, “Gratitude is the start of happiness”, the aim is to settle corporate culture of consideration, communication, and affirmation to create vibrant office environm  -ents and increase work performance by the city of Pohang. The main project of thanks sharing movement is to spread out con- siderations, compliments, affirmations, and “thankful virus” to homes, offices and local communities by writing five thankful things each day, writing thank-you letters, and expressing gratitude using phone calls or message.
POSTECH has promised to join the movement and inspire thanks to members of POSTECH, by distributing the donated 3,000 thanks notes to its students and faculties.
