According to this partnership, POSTECH and LG Electronics will have joint seminars and conferences twice a year in order to develop projects of academy-industry collaboration. By accepting both sides of strong points through an extra committee, they are going to construct an innovative model of academy-industry collaboration.
The academy-industry collaboration, which LG electronics is to support with five billion KRW for five years, is not only aiming to seek a new growth engine in the field of R&D such as IT, mechanics, and chemistry, but also to provide internships with placements and facilities for POSTECH students.
President Yongmin Kim, Nho Hwan-yong, the CEO of LG Electronic, Kim Seung-hwan of Academy-Industry Foundation of POSETCH, and Kim Byung-soon, the executive director of LG Electronics attended the collaboration ceremony.
Also, to celebrate this collaboration, CEO Nho presented a special lecture organized by POSTECH Academy-Industry Collaboration and POSTECH BK21 Institute of Future Information Technologyat LG Cooperative Electronics Engineering Bldg.
POSTECH Academy-Industry Foundation established in 2004 attempts to spread the research results to the society, and expects to create more synergy effect by academy-industry cooperation.
