POSTECH’s Department of Chemical Engineering (CE) and Industrial and Management Engineering (IME) Departments were ranked first in the ‘2010 National University and Department Rankings’ conducted by the JoongAng Daily.
Released on Sep. 9, the rankings consisted of 4 major categories based on the university information officially announced by the respective school in 2009-2010: Education Environment, Competence of Professors, Financial Support to Students, and Effectiveness of Education.
Evaluated from a pool of 48 universities, POSTECH’s Chemical Engineering Department squarely ranked number one in South Korea. After POSTECH followed Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University, Yonsei University, KAIST, and Hanyang University.
IME was evaluated from a pool of 41 universities with the established department. Following POSTECH, the universities chosen in the top group were KAIST, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, in random order.
