Casual meeting for information exchange

▲ The 1st Global Postechian Day was organized to offer an opportunity to students who plan to study abroad to gain useful information from foreign students at POSTECH, as well as from fellow students going overseas.
International Postechians gathered for knowledge exchange on Apr. 1 at the POSCO International Centre. The Global Postechian Day was organised by the International Relations Office. Its purpose was to offer an opportunity to students who plan to study abroad to gain useful information from foreign students at POSTECH, as well as from fellow students going overseas.

The event was held in a casual manner and continued for two hours. Julie Kim, the study abroad program officer, said, “This day is not only to promote good relationships among Postechians but in the long run to help departing Korean students to feel less cultural shock when meeting foreigners.” She commented that although it is only in a developmental stage, she hopes it will develop into a major event like the POSTECH International Night.

Stefan Muller, a student from Austria, said, “This is certainly a pleasant event. However, it would be nicer if I could give a presentation about my university to a bigger audience as an advertisement.”

This year, students are leaving for Australia, Canada, Japan, Germany, Norway and the U.S to study for a semester or a year in a new environment.
