This past July and Aug., POSTECH  provided education to those who haven’t had a chance to get the fullest education even though they have talent in mathematics or science.

The students were invited to a program entitled ‘The POSTECH Potential Camp’ for four weeks to take courses that were provided by POSTECH professors.

Most of the participants were from rural parts of Korea or from low income families so they had few opportunities to get education other than their school work provided. They were second or third students of high school who showed talent in math and science. The selected students lived in the POSTECH dormitory for 4 weeks, taking classes that were provided by POSTECH. All the money that went into the program was funded by POSTECH.

Professors put their uttermost energy into this program. They prepared English lectures and gave out handmade textbooks for each course.

The chief of admission affairs at POSTECH said, “POSTECH will continue to excavate students who have potential in the field of math and science and give them the opportunity to improve their ability so that they can achieve their goal.”
