The Korean Academy of Science and Technology (KAST) held its second regular general meeting on Nov. 27. In this meeting, KAST held an annual awards ceremony, where KAST Awards, Dukmyuong-KAST Engineering Awards, and other awards are distributed. 
The 14th KAST Award was given to Professor Choi Won yong (IEET) who has developed several photo catalysts using unique concepts and has researched the characteristics and reaction mechanism. Through his research, he strengthened the theoretical basis. He is especially recognized for his work on Advanced Oxidation Technology and chemical reactions in ice.
The 9th Dukmyuong-KAST Engineering Awards was given to Professor Cho Kil won (CE) for attributing innovation in high-performance organic electronics and printed electronics through creative print technology.
