Professor Kilwon Cho (CE) and Sae Byeok Jo (CE Ph. D. Candidate) developed a technology to increase the efficiency of organic solar cells by applying the fact that currents created when an organic solar cell receives light are sensitive to changes in their electric field. This research appeared on the cover of the latest issue of the journal Advanced Energy Materials, an authoritative journal in the field of material science, on Oct. 21.
This research is the first to provide an architectural model that is applicable to all newly developed organic semiconductors. Also, the research is expected to contribute to the development of efficient, low-cost, flexible organic solar cells.
