A team of Professor Moon Jeong Park (CHEM), Choi Il-Young (AMS Ph.D. candidate), Lee Jung-Pil (CHEM Ph.D. candidate) made a nanosheet of conducting polymer "polyaniline" using ice as a mold.
Renowned chemistry journal, Angewandte Chemie, selected this paper as a Highly Important Paper on its issue 36 published on Sep. 1, a distinction only given to the top 10% of papers they publish.
The nanosheet has 40 times higher electric conductivity than the previous polyaniline nanosheet, and it can deliver two times more electricity than graphene does. This nanosheet is expected to be utilized as an electrode in various materials of electrochemistry, for which only 9,000 KRW is needed to produce one square meter. It is also eco-friendly since it uses a mold made of ice.
