Aiming to reinforce creativity education for undergraduate students and to extract creative ideas about the steel production process, the Mechanical Engineering Department held a creative research program for undergraduate students during the 2014 winter session. The research theme was about drawing creative ideas for the development of steel production. It was held from Dec. 9 - 15, 2014. Participants were required to record their department, student number, name, phone number, and winter session credits if they were taking any. Students who participated in this program obtained a small research scholarship and boarding expenses. Furthermore, significant research results were awarded with prizes: 3,000,000 KRW for the top prize, 2,000,000 KRW for the honorable mention prize, and 1,000,000 KRW for the participatory prize. The winners were Moobum Kim (ME 10), Kwanho Yun (ME 08), and the team of Kwangsuk Lee (ME 11) and Jaehuk Jin (ME 11), respectively. This program was hosted by POSTECH ME and sponsored by POSCO.
