Professor Suh Suk Hwan (GEM) was appointed as the fourth President of The Korean Society of System Engineering. He graduated from Korea University, KAIST and Ohio State University, Columbus with a doctoral degree. His relationship with POSTECH began in 1987 when he was assigned as the Ministry Professor of POSTECH system engineering. At that time, he was also the director of the engineering graduate school, the chairperson of the ISO working group, and vice chairman of the Korean Institute of Industrial Engineering.
“Although System Engineering is the core technology of modern industry that could realize fusion, synergy and creative economy, in Korea, it is applied to a very limited range. For the improvement of the basis of system engineering, I will focus on the promotion of industry-school and government related support,” said Prof Suh. His appointment was on Nov. 6 and the term is from Jan. 1, 2015 - Dec. 31, 2015.
