POSTECH launched The Office of International Student and Scholar Service (ISSS) to provide services to the international community at POSTECH and enhance campus globalization. It started operation with the opening ceremony on Oct. 11 in the POSCO International Center. International members and POSTECH faculty members including President Sunggi Baik honored the ceremony.

The main services provided are the following: publications and orientations about lives in POSTECH, organizations of social activities, counseling, and aids for administration problems. Before, services offered by the International Relations Office were only available for international students. From now, they  also become available for facultiy members and staffs.

ISSS is a part of the ‘Three-year Globalization Plan’, which was launched  this year and planned to make POSTECH to become a world top 50 university by 2013. A branch of that intended to make a Global Environment Campus for international members.

About that, Prof. Eui-Ho Suh clarified, “This is an execution of the ‘Three-year Globalization Plan’. With a six-month preparation, ISSS can now offer a one-step integrated solution. I wish it could accommodate international members to take care of them not to feel any difficulty and inconvenience.”
