LINC 3.0 is one of the divisions fostering entrepreneurship among Postechians. The Postech Times interviewed Hyejin Lee, a principal researcher at LINC 3.0.

 

  What kind of work does LINC 3.0 accomplish?
  LINC 3.0 activates industry-academic cooperation supported by the government, and its full name is Leaders in INdustry-University Cooperation 3.0. Because the initial project had a different direction from POSTECH, we have not participated until LINC+. However, technological innovation leadership was established last year, and POSTECH was selected for LINC 3.0.

 

  What business are you responsible for?
  LINC 3.0 operates diverse programs ranging from curriculum development to industrialization. I plan the whole program and manage the results, as well as overseeing the general management and responding to evaluations by checking the annual progress and administering the outcomes. In addition, I devise and run programs for professors and students with practitioners in each field.

We are planning a ‘Global Career Development Program’ to convey the experience and know-how of alumni hired by global corporations. For students interested in start-ups, programs like ‘lunch-talk sessions’ and ‘Gwamagi Startup Expedition’ are in preparation. Besides, various programs are discovered to activate the student foundation by communicating with APGC-Lab.
Since most programs are conducted yearly, they were already announced last semester and are underway. A start-up or job support programs are usually notified during the first half of every year — please pay attention and apply for them.

  What objective or expectation does LINC 3.0 have?
  LINC 3.0 aims to build a sustainable innovative and leading industry-academic environment underneath the vision of being the university that propels the coexistent local economy with next-generation technology. It corresponds to POSTECH’s establishment philosophy: cultivating international talent with intelligence and serving society and humanity by sharing research results of industry-academia-research cooperation with industries.
  We hope LINC 3.0 will support professors’ research and various student activities and become a focal point that leads social and industrial growth by cooperating with POSTECH.

 

  Do you have any last words for Postechians?
  I always have had something to say to Postechians; All of you are gemstones, and people who can give power and courage during their lifetime to one another just by being together in this space at this time. Spend a lot of time with the people around you and collaborate, rather than compete.
  Also, I recommend doing anything you feel passionate about. Even if you fail, it will be a valuable experience and the knowledge gained will be a great asset in your life. Please utilize manifold projects including LINC 3.0 and suggest your ideas for improvements anytime.
