On April. 24, a talk concert covering the topics of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency was held at the POSCO International Center of POSTECH. Cha Myeong-hun (CSE 07), the CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange ‘Coinone’, was invited as a guest lecturer to share his knowledge and insight of the cryptocurrency field. He briefly introduced the basic concepts of how a cryptocurrency, such as bitcoin and ethereum, work. He also shared his opinions of the expandability of cryptocurrencies, mentioning the possibility of its usage during the trade process. After the lecture a brief talk concert was held. Professor Kwak Su-ha (CSE) and Professor Rhu Min-soo (CSE) introduced the basic concepts of artificial intelligence and its usage. Before going on to the second part of the event, there was a Q&A session. Several students were interested in further application of cryptocurrencies, and some students asked about the recent governmental regulation on cryptocurrencies. Furthermore, students who were interested in their future career asked the professors about prominent fields of research other than artificial intelligence and block-chains. The second part of the event was held at a restaurant on the second floor of the International Center, where all the participants enjoyed a dinner paid by Mr. Cha.
