2017 Future Maker Festival Held at POSTECH

On Aug. 31, 2017 Future Maker Festival was held at POSTECH, near the school gymnasium and Posplex. The festival was sponsored by Samsung Electronics and the Gyeongsangbukdo Pohang Office of Education. Future Maker Festival is a career exploration festival held by Samsung Electronics, since 2013. More than 2000 middle school students and teachers visited this festival, from eight different middle schools in Pohang.
The first act is called Future Ground, in which students visit various career exploration booths opened during the festival to experience careers and earn useful lessons. The Career exploration booths are classified into Future, Competence, Mentoring, and Event zones. At the Career Exploration booths in Future and Competence booths, students can experience technologies based on recent hot science topics and have time to think about their own careers. In the mentoring zone, students meet mentors who are knowledgeable in their area of career and discuss what they need to do in order to achieve their ambitions. The second act is called Future Live, in which students attend a live talk show and enjoy various performances. For 2017 Future Maker Festival, Lee Sung-won Executive from Samsung Mobile Display Manufacturing team and Kim Tae-won Senior Vice President from Google Global Business team attended as lecturers.
