An elevator has been installed at Students’ Union to increase convenience for those with a disability and for moving things to the second and third floor. The construction took three months. The floor had to be torn out and structures had to be reinforced with steel frames and aluminum panels. The elevator went through multiple testing and commissioning procedures and passed the safety test held by a professional organization. People are now allowed to use the elevator, which can hold up to 15 people. The elevator entrance on the first floor is directed outward and the elevator has two doors. It started running at 18:00 on Feb. 28, about a week later than the completion date expected by the Facilities Management team.
