On Mar. 1, Students’ Union Building was temporarily off-limits to everyone because of a building-wide cleaning operation. The operation was scheduled to start early at 8’o clock in the morning and to end at midnight. While the event itself was absurd to many students, since there has not been one for some years before, the scale was quite surprising, for the whole building being under restriction. The big cleanup was, as it turned out, mainly due to several construction projects completed during the winter. The Student Affairs team had explained the cleanup as “clearing up the floors and taking out the dust, which might cause health issues.” The cleanup not only covered the open spaces of the building, but also Atlas Hall, the coffee shop in the first floor, the main conference room, and the rooms reserved for student-governed organizations who left the doors open for that day for floor cleaning and waxing. The operation was completed around five in the afternoon.
