POSTECH has started the 2017 Bang Dosie Global Trip Campaign. It’s named after a Korean Japanese junior, Nakamura Dosie, who donated 200,000,000 KRW to POSTECH in 1997. The purpose of the campaign is to let students plan and visit various places such as research institutes, universities, etc. around the world to come up with a global problem that our world is confronting and suggest solutions. Any student can register as teams of two or three members. Teams will be going through evaluations of their trip proposal documents, and a presentation. The evaluation is mainly on clarity of the purpose of the trip, uniqueness of the trip, realistic possibility, expected outcomes, and financially appropriate budgets. The support fund for the campaign is 45,000,000 KRW for the team going to Europe, America, or Oceania, and 25,000,000 KRW for Asia. Two teams are selected at the finals, one team to go to Europe, America, or Oceania, and one for Asia. Within a month after completing the trip, the selected team must submit the final report based on the data and information they acquired during the trip, and upload the report on the official Bang Dosei Global Trip Campaign website, to share the experience with others. The trip is limited to one continent only. The registration period is from Mar. 6 to Mar. 31.
