Solution for Low Integration Problem of Thin Film Transistor

The teams of professor Jung Sung June (CiTE) and Prof. Cho Kil-won (CE) successfully created 3D circuits of organic thin film transistor through print process. They can be used for unit circuit of computer.
Organic thin film transistor has been actively researched with smart device because of its great flexibility. However, the electronic circuits of such transistors have a low degree of integration so it is hard to use these for devices requiring complex functions.
The research teams built 3D circuits of organic thin film transistor by stacking circuits vertically, through printing several times with inkjet printer. The devices made by this method show consistent properties necessary for complex devices and function normally for up to eight months, which is proper for mass production and commercialization.
