From Nov. 9-10, the elections for representatives of Undergraduate Association (UA), Women’s Students Association (WSA), and Dorm Union (DU) were held. Originally, the dates for elections were Nov. 7 and 8 but they were delayed because the candidates for UA registered too late and they did not have enough time for election campaign.
Jang Yun Seon (IME 14) and Lee Seung Jun (MATH 13) were elected as the 31st leaders of UA with 487 votes. Kang Min Ji (CHEM 15) and Lee Ga Young (Undeclared 16) were elected as the 29th President of WSA with 109 votes. Sung Min Sik (ME 15) and Hwang Su Yun (MSE 15) were elected as the 31st leaders of DU with 706 votes.
UA, WSA, and DU elections are proceeded with a sole candidate group. Fifty-seven percent of the undergraduate students participated in the election for UA and 62.28% of them agreed to elect new candidate team of UA. Roughly 69% of the female students participated in the election for WSA and 92.09% of them accepted the new candidate team. Also, DU elections had 62.89% participation of the students who live in dormitory and 91.57% of them voted for the new candidate team.
New representatives of UA spoke of their plans to reorganize the system for signing up for the courses. Also, they said they would make a committee for revising university regulations and a system for Postechians to suggest various issues and discuss them actively. The new UA also planned to promote exchange with SNU and KAIST. More information are on page four.
