POSTECH was rated as one of the best Korean universities in natural science and engineering by Joongang Daily Departmental University Assessment. Joongang Daily announced the 2016 Departmental University Assessment on Sep. 2. The assessment was conducted about seven areas of study: mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, food and nutrition science, materials engineering, computer engineering, and chemical engineering.
POSTECH was evaluated in all areas except food and nutrition science. All departments except the department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) were rated “Highest”, while MSE was evaluated as “High”. The assessment was based on 12 categories including research capabilities, scholarships, student-faculty ratio, and employment rate. POSTECH especially excelled in scholarships and student-faculty ratio, proving its superb education environment. A total of 78 universities were evaluated in this year’s assessment, and the top 10% received ratings of “Highest”.
