POSTECH Profe-ssor Wan Kyun Chung (ME) was appointed as a Fellow of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). IEEE is the largest scholastic community of electronic engineering and computer science in the world. Prof. Chung is a renowned scholar in robotics. He became a POSTECH professor in 1987. He was the president of KROS (Korean Robot Society), the Editor of IEEE Transactions on Robotics, and now he is the Senior Editor of IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters. IEEE fellows must meet very strict criteria before being appointed. They only choose people who have contributed to the social advancement by their research works. Each year, the number of newly appointed fellows is restricted to less than 0.1% of IEEE members with voting rights.
