POSTECH-Harvard joint research team developed smart photomedicine using light. The team consists of Professor Sei Kwang Han (MSE), Hye min Kim (MSE Ph.D. integrated), Prof. Seok Hyun Yun, (Bio-Optics of Harvard University) and Ki Su Kim (Postdoctoral researcher of Harvard Medical School).
The team successfully maximized the immunity-boosting properties of hyaluronic acid, focusing on the point that it has a high permeability to skin. Instead of injecting this vaccine into patients, hyaluronic acid can be applied to the skin , which decreases the risk of infection and makes patients more comfortable.
This result was published in the prestigious journals Advanced Materials and Nature Communication on Jan. 19.
