Perovskite is 10 times cheaper and much higher in color purity than OLED, so it is the latest display material that can present a natural color image. However, bond energy of exciton formed in the perovskite is very low and it is easily separated into charge and dissipates, which makes luminescence efficiency of LED decrease. The team developed a new thin film process named ‘Nanocrystal fixation’. Using it, the team reduced the size of crystal particles with flattening thin film and successfully removed the element that lowers luminescence efficiency.
