A car that stops when there is a pedestrian ahead and slows itself down when the car in front of it decelerates, moved closer to reality. POSTECH Intellectual Media Lab and Stradvision, a venture company established in 2014 by graduate CSE students, has earned a reputation worldwide by their “object detection” technology.
Some of the technologies Stradvision specializes in include pedestrian and vehicle detection, license plate detection, and text recognition, all considered indispensable parts of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). After participating in the International Association of Patten Recognition (IAPR) conference and International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition (ICDAR 2015), POSTECH Media Lab and Stradvision swept 1st place in 4 fields, and won 2nd place in 1 other field.
Bong Jin Jeon, the president of Stradvision, said that Stradvision will be focusing on commercialization of the technology to detect and recognize various objects.
