POSTECH has implemented a free Wi-Fi trial service that allows all Postechians and visitors of campus to use high-speed internet. This trial runs from Apr. 4 – Jun. 30, and the area of access is the entire campus except the residential area.
To use the free Wi-Fi, connect the wireless LAN SSID ‘postech-freewifi’, login to Facebook (Check-in) and use the free internet. All electronic equipments users who use wireless LAN such as smart phones, tablet PCs, and laptops can use this service. To establish this free Wi-Fi environment, campus Wi-Fi service (except for at POSCO International Center) was temporarily suspended from 7P.M. to 24P.M. on Apr. 9.
After two months of reviewing users’ patterns and the operational efficiency, administrators will determine whether the service will be continued. If the service is implemented, many Postechians and visitors of campus can use high-speed internet and communication will be greatly activated. Also, POSTECH’s official Facebook page could be activated, which may connect POSTECH with more people outside the university.
