On Feb. 6, POSTECH Center for Excellence in Education held a seminar titled “Technology in Classroom.” It was held from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. in Mueunjae Memorial Hall 422. The focus was delivering strategies and methods for effective classes to professors. Faculty members, researchers, and graduate students were also invited to participate. During the first session 3 P.M. to 3:30 P.M., there was a lecture about utilizing mobile devices. Using mobile devices, students can search for information instantly during the class. Furthermore, they can be active learners by asking questions anonymously through mobile devices. The second lecture was delivered from 3:30 P.M. to 4 P.M. It was about a self-diagnose system of lecture. After a 10- minute break, guidance for applying Flipped Learning was conveyed during the third lecture. Flipped Learning is a form of blended learning, in which students learn the contents online by watching video lectures before the class. During the class, teachers and students discuss and solve questions. Consequently, interaction between teachers and students is more personalized because teachers give guidance instead of lecturing. Last but not least, usage of Class Response System was delivered in the last session. Class Response Systems use a combination of software and hardware , usually for clickers, to present questions, record responses, and provide feedback.
