The festival “Passion of Pohang (POP)” was held at Yuk-geori on Nov. 14 from 2 P.M.-10:35 P.M. Three universities, POSTECH, Handong Global University and Sunlin College, organized the festival. This year’s motto was “U & Me”, which is short for Unlock & Meet Exchange. The goal was to get people to relieve (“unlock”) some stress and meet others.
Organizers prepared a quiz about the three universities. Questions covered the universities’ history (e.g. important dates), university details (like colors), and POP. Only people who corrected the answer and who collected 11 stamps looking around the booths could enter for an event of lucky draw.
After all performances were finished,  Baek Sang Won (MSE 12) directed the POP drawing. Prizes included an iPad, department store gift cards, and headsets. An SNS-based POP acrostic poem competition was also held. The winning department received gift cards.
Various booths were also another highlight of the event. The Emergency Medical Technology Department of Sunlin College showed how to handle emergency situations and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Also people could enjoy booths that informed participants of the danger of drink to which represented their clubs character like photo clubs and art clubs. Clubs of POSTECH including ENP and CLATAR sold churros, fish cake, etc. And some Postechians opened a booth individually.
In the first section, in which clubs were paid to perform, UMCHI, POSTECH? a cappella club, participated. In the second section, five clubs competed for the number one position and prize money, which was about 1,000,000 KRW. BREMEN and Ctrl-D participated in the competition. BREMEN won the Popularity Award, and Ctrl-D finished third. The event came to a climax when three rappers, GIRI BOY, C JAMM and ULTIMA, gave congratulatory remarks and short performances.
To promote more participation, POP provided a shuttle bus for Postechians and the shuttle bus ran six times at an interval of about one hour and thirty minutes starting from 2:10 P.M.
