Heejin Kim (IME M.S.-Ph.D. candidate; Adviser Professor is Prof. Sung H. Han) received an award for having the best posters in the 2nd ACM Symposium on Spatial User Interaction (SUI) held in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She researched arm posture and classified users’ natural pointing posture when user points to a distal target on a big screen. Moreover, she analyzed that posture has an impact on efficiency when selecting a target on a big screen. The title is “Natural Pointing Posture in Distal Pointing Tasks”.
Researchers displayed their posters and received questions from scholars individually. The best poster thesis award was given to two researchers, Heejin Kim and Ryan Spicer, for his research and poster on “A Raycast Approach to Hybrid Touch / Motion Capture Virtual Reality User Experience”.
This symposium was held on Oct. 4-5 collaborated with ACM-UIST (User Interface Software and Technology Symposium) 2014. It is held to promote an intensive exchange between industrial and academic researchers working in the area of spatial user interaction.
